This customer came to us with a machined brass part looking to reduce costs. They wanted to convert to a powder metal part that would be far less costly without sacrificing the quality or standards that their tool required. After several sessions of simultaneous engineering, we eliminated the six machining operations that it typically took to make the brass part and created a process that could make the powdered metal part in one compaction.
